Located around the cloisters of the 15C San Matteo monastery, this museum bears witness to the explosion of art that occurred in Pisa from the 13C to the 15C with its collection of ceramics, architectural sculptures and paintings. Illustrating the period when Pisa came under the control of Florence (15C), of particular interest are a St Paul by Masaccio, a Madonna and Child by Michelozzo, a delightful Madonna and Child by Fra Angelico and a gilded bronze bust of St Rossore by Donatello.
