The Allée des Cygnes is a pleasant walkway on the Île des Cygnes, a man-made island created under the Restoration. La France Renaissante by the Danish sculptor Wederkinch (1930) stands at the upstream end. The bronze scale model of Bartholdi's famous Statue of Liberty, at the other end of the island, was a gift from Paris' American community in 1885 and placed here for the 1889 World Fair.
