Film buffs and curious fans will want to pay a visit to the legendary Louxor cinema, reopened in 2013 after escaping destruction too many times to mention. The oldest cinema of the French capital was inaugurated in 1921, at which time it seated a staggering 1,200 people. Of Egyptian inspiration, the façade is emblematic of the period's vogue for exoticism. The corner façade sports a blue, black and gold mosaic décor, enriched with flying beetles and cobras.
