The main thoroughfare for the Latin Quarter where cosmopolitan youngsters love to stroll along the famous «Boul'Mich» once busy, it is now no more than a soulless shopping area like so many others: the books shops and publishing houses have given way to prêt-à-porter boutiques, fast food cafés. Only the Joseph Gibert book store survives looking on impassively. In the adjoining streets there are still cinemas for art and experimental films, true reference points for the knowing film fans.
