The mansion of President Lambert de Thorigny, alias Lambert the Rich, was built in 1640 by Le Vau and decorated by Le Sueur and Le Brun. Since 2007, it has been owned by the brother of the Emir of Qatar and some of the restoration work undertaken has sparked great controversy. Parts of its decor have been entrusted to the Louvre. During the summer of 2013, a serious fire damaged the mansion and slowed down the restoration, which was finished in 2018.
