Two staggering sites make up Antelope Canyon, which is on Navajo territory, near Lake Powell. The entrance to Lower Canyon can hardly be made out: a simple fault in the ground, a few steep steps, then a fascinating route among the sandstone waves between narrow walls. At Upper Canyon, you get to a sublime sandstone gorge via a fault, where the rock calls to mind draperies in various hues of ochre. Each very different, both canyons are equally spectacular.
