Opened in 1935, the Valley of Fire State Park takes its name from the flame colour of its many red sandstone formations. While not reaching the grandiose scale of the national parks of Arizona and Utah, Valley of Fire still provides immense pleasure for visitors. Photographers will appreciate the multicoloured colour of its rocky formations sculpted by erosion which give the impression of being permanently on fire. Discover also the petrified trees and petroglyphs dating back to prehistory.
