This museum charts the voyages of Thor Heyerdahl (1914-2002), an anthropologist, whose aim was to find the routes taken by ancient peoples: the Kon-Tiki raft expedition from Peru to Polynesia to prove that the Polynesians were of South American descent; and the Ra II expedition from Morocco to Barbados to demonstrate that the Egyptians could have crossed the Atlantic. The exhibitions here will delight those with a strong sense of adventure.
