In the heart of old Nimes, a stone's throw from the amphitheatre, you will find the two symbols of the town - a bronze crocodile sitting on a fountain (a work by Martial Raysse) and a real palm tree. This square teeming with café terraces stands at the end of several pedestrianised shopping streets (Rue de l'Aspic, Rue Régale and Rue des Greffes).
