The small, moving and high-quality American Folk Art Museum appeals equally to fans of naïve art and to lovers of art brut. The museum's wide-ranging collection runs the gamut from everyday utensils from the colonial period and various waves of immigration to chairs, pottery, colorful patchwork quilts and spectacular wind vanes. Naïve works of art rub shoulders with works by one of the "masters" of outsider art, Henry Darger (1892-1973).
