Housed in the 18C Venetian arsenal, Nafplio's Archaeological Museum has fascinating rare pottery from the Neolithic period and collections of archaic art from digs in Argolis, in particular the nearby site of Tiryns. The museum's centrepiece is a refrigerating jar (c 2700-2200 BC), but also look out for the bronze Mycenaean cuirass and the terracotta ritual masks.
