The semi-pedestrianised little streets of the old town are dotted with houses that have retained lots of their character of old. The area, especially around Axeltorv, is great for a pleasant and lively stroll. Kirkegade leads to Skt Peders Kirkeplads, the square presided over by St Peter's Church, is lined with brick houses with gabled façades. The medieval town hall (Middelalderlige) standing opposite is the oldest town hall in Denmark (1450). Look out for Riddergade, with its lovely old half-timbered houses and Sankt Mortens Kirke.
