Poggio Civitate's Etruscan villa provides a valuable insight into ancient domestic architecture, notably the roof structure which remains almost intact and is on show in the museum; note its rich ornamentation adorned with 1.50m-high statues. Ceramic vases, household objects, crockery and jewellery (all found on the site) give an idea of what life was like for an aristocratic Etruscan family in the 7C-6C BC.
