Along the road to Milas, don't miss the lovely Roman temple of Euromos. The only visible vestige of the city of Euromos, it seems to rise up in the middle of nowhere. Built in the 2C CE for Jupiter, it is one of the best-preserved temples in Turkey. Sixteen of its columns, with fluted shafts and crowned by elegant Corinthian capitals, are still visible today. Twelve of these are adorned with a plaque covered with inscriptions, the signatures of donors.
