The interior of Notre-Dame and St-Privat Cathedral has been rebuilt several times (notably after the attack by the Protestants on Christmas Eve, 1579). Its three naves are flanked by 15 side chapels. Note the different kinds of wood panelling, the Aubusson tapestries and the 11C Black Virgin brought back from the East by the crusaders. Under the nave is the crypt of St-Privat. The two bell towers provide a sharp contrast.
