A man-made island just offshore from downtown Memphis, this leisure park includes a 5 000-seat amphitheatre, a museum on the history of the Mississippi and a model of the river. Footpaths and cycle routes have been laid out alongside the river. The Mississippi River Museum is home to a whole host of exhibits, including a life-size replica of a Mississippi riverboat. Outside, the half-mile-long Mississippi Riverwalk replicates in miniature the river's journey from Cairo, Illinois, to the Gulf of Mexico.
