Sasso Caveoso boasts some of the town's finest examples of churches carved out of the rock, adorned with remarkably preserved frescoes. To the southeast, in the Rione Casalnuovo district, the 12C Convicino di Sant'Antonio (12C) is a complex of four churches overlooking a courtyard. Nearby, the Casa Grotta del Casalnuovo, one of the town's typical dwellings, has been converted into a museum highlighting the life of inhabitants of the Sassi until the 1950s.
