This provincial museum is housed in the former Monasterio de San Francisco. From the original building the museum has preserved the kitchen, refectory (18C) and cloister (15C). Its displays are devoted to different aspects of regional art, with a focus on archaeology and painting. The sundials, models highlighting changes to the local habitat, and the gold torques (Celtic neck rings) are worthy of particular note. Visitors can also admire 19C-20C Spanish paintings from the Nelson Zúmel collection.
