Here you will find four houses surrounded by a shady area of lawn. These houses accommodated British ministers (Curzon at No. 1, Kitchener at No.2, and Palmerston at No.4). This last residence was rebuilt in 1933 in the classical style and was the general quarters of the French Liberation Forces commanded by General de Gaulle. In June 1993 a bronze statue of the French liberation leader was inaugurated opposite No.4.
