The original church is believed to have been built by king Cadwalla in the 7C. After the Great Fire, Wren started the three-windowed façade and the bell-tower porch. The inside is decorated with wooden furnishings from the 17C and a remarkable richly sculpted partition. Under the gallery, doors cover three windows, the compartments of which show off rich sculpting by Grinling Gibbons. Note the double verger pulpit (1690).
