This monumental red sandstone building, construction of which began in 1904, is the work of Giles Gilbert Scott, who endowed it with his triumphant interpretation of Gothic tradition, including a highly original double transept. The nave bestows an impression of enormity, solidity and height. The 100m tower is home to a set of bells weighing 31 tonnes. Make sure you visit the Lady Chapel to admire the 15C altarpiece by Giovanni della Robba.
