In 1956, the widow of the American artist William Henry Singer had a modern art museum built here which displays major temporary exhibitions, paintings by the artist and his collection showed on rotation. The latter features canvases by 19C-20C French painters (Corot, Boudin, Le Sidaner), works from the Amsterdam and Hague Schools (Maris, Bosboom, Isaac Israëls), as well as paintings by modernists and member of the Laren School. The museum also boasts a sculpture garden.
