This is the only wooded island along the Bouches-du-Rhône coast (hence its name, meaning "green island"). With its many calanques (creeks) framed by sheer cliffs, this 13ha island is hugely popular with swimmers. Visitors can enjoy the best view of the Cap de l'Aigle rock from the small fort that stands on the island. The Île Verte is the perfect venue for a day out with all the family, offering swimming, fishing and picnic opportunities, or the option to have lunch in the island's restaurant.
