Built in 1554 on an island in the middle of a lake by a forest, this Renaissance castle originally played a defensive role. It is still occupied by the descendants of its builder, and the Great Hall is particularly noteworthy, decorated with an imposing equestrian portrait of Christian IV, and hunting "trophies" brought back from Africa by a previous owner. The lovely 18C grounds are perfect for a stroll, and the museum houses a fashion collection and old cars.
