This large, rectangular square in the town centre boasts the Dragon Fountain (Lindwurmbrunnen), a huge schist monster which has become the town's emblem and was erected by two brothers, Ulrich and Andreas Vogelsang, between 1582 and 1593. Every house around the square has its own history. Note, in particular, the successfully rebuilt 18C Porcia palace, the town hall dating from 1580, and Adler chemist's shop with Rococo stuccowork.
