After working as a teacher in Rethel, Paul Verlaine lived in Juniville from 1880 to 1882. Located on a street corner is the unassuming Au Lion d'Or café that the poet frequented and where he completed his work Sagesse. It has been recreated with period furniture and includes an extensive collection of exhibits relating to his life and work. After visiting the museum, make sure you explore the 1 000m2 garden and Les Verlainiennes - temporary exhibitions by painters, sculptors and photographers.
