The town of Ixmiquilpan may be better known today for its numerous waterparks, but it also has an Augustinian monastery dedicated to San Miguel, dating from the same time as Actopan's. It is remarkable for its church, the indigenous ornamentation of which was discovered in 1959 and boasts a wealth of very surprising murals. The sacristy and its baptistery present a grisaille decoration that is more in keeping with the style found in Actopan.
