The Museum of the Ancient Orient is one of Istanbul's three archaeology museums. It has been restructured and now brings together remarkable artefacts from the civilisations of Anatolia, Arabia, Egypt (statues, scarabs, sarcophagi and mummies) and Mesopotamia (numerous examples of writing on tablets). One of the most interesting pieces is the famous Treaty of Kadesh (found at Bogazköy), agreed between Hittites and Egyptians in 1269 BC.
