This oblong square set in a park is the focal point for the city's main monuments, beginning with the 14C ramparts (one of the defensive towers contains the remains of a hammam). Admire the discreetly oriental and melancholic charm of the Turkish mausoleum (Mauzolej). Opposite is the castle (Dvorac) whose garden commands a fine view of the river. Finally, the church of St John of Capistrano (Sv. Ivana Kapistrana) is well worth a detour by virtue of its Gothic (1349) and Baroque architecture.
