Old mines with the waves lapping at their foundations are a reminder of the time - not so long ago - when these exceptional landscapes resounded with the lucrative extraction of zinc, lead and silver. Nowadays given over to a tourism based on industrial archaeology, this superb coastline stretching from Capo di Frasca in the north to Capo Altano in the south boasts little creeks, dunes and long, sandy beaches hemmed in by dense scrubland. A rugged and alluring region - quite literally off the beaten track.
