Through its collections of excavated artefacts, the Hallstatt Museum charts 7 000 years of history of the village and surrounding area, from the Halstatt period to the present day. This period (1000-500 BC) corresponds to a form of civilisation that was marked by progress in ironworking and Celtic immigration to Gaul. Exhibits include reconstructed scenes of daily life and a presentation of Hallstatt pioneers. Information panels are in German and English.
