The completely renovated Frans Hals Museum is now spread across two venues: the HOF, its historic building, occupies the charming hospice of Groot Heiligland (1610); the HAL, its modern incarnation, is located on the Grote Markt. Its extensive collection is displayed via major theme-based temporary exhibitions and comprises masterpieces from the 16C-18C (in particular, canvases by Frans Hals), as well as decorative and contemporary art.
