Lying to the east of Guadeloupe, Marie-Galante evokes the lazy ambience of a tropical island, renowned for its laid-back atmosphere and its rum. It is a charming spot where the inhabitants still work primarily in the sugar cane industry. Its landscapes are similar to those of Grande-Terre, with the rural feel of an island which is slowly being discovered by tourists. Superb beaches, peaceful villages and welcoming restaurants all add to the appeal.
