This classical structure was built in 1668 by Pieter Post. Its facade is depicted by a bas-relief representing the weighing of cheese, which used to be carried out here. The Waag houses the Goudse Waag, Kaasen Ambachtenmuseum (Museum of Cheese and Traditional Crafts), which provides an insight into how Gouda cheese is made, as well as pipe- and candle-making. The pretty chapel of St. Agnes (Agnietenkapel) is located behind the Weighing house.
