The ghostly form of the ancient kastro dominates the hill of Geraki, which is scattered with churches, some of which have retained fragments of medieval frescoes. Agios Georgios perches at the very top, within the surrounding walls of the forteress. In addition to the 13C frescoes, you will notice a large iconostasis bearing Frankish coats of arms (to the left). Then follow the rampart walk, which offers a superb view. There are three further chapels on the crest outside the citadel.
