The Iglesia de Santa Cruz on Plaza Nuestra Señora del Valle is an unusual-looking church. First, you will cross Visigothic, Mudejar and Renaissance ruins that hark back to the past places of worship. Note the elegant Renaissance tower decorated with azulejos. The neo-Classical interior with a Greek cross floor plan houses a statue of the Virgin of the Valley (13C), patron saint of Écija. One of the altars is an early Christian sarcophagus from the 5C. The museum has a large collection of gold work.
