Since 2009, Ostwall museum has occupied the fourth and fifth floors of the "Dortmunder U" building, a former brewery dating from 1926 which is now an arts centre. The museum presents a collection of art from the 20C to the current day, including works from the Fluxus movement, as well as by Joseph Beuys, Dieter Roth and Expressionist artists such as Max Beckmann and August Macke. Wolf Vostell's extremely poignant "TEK" installation evokes the human suffering of a concentration camp (1970).
