Banker Simon van Gijn (1836-1922), a great lover of art, bequeathed this beautiful house (1729) with all its contents to the city. An elegant 18 and 19 C decor, rich furniture, Flemish tapestries (reception room), toys (attic), copper and earthenware tiles (kitchen) brighten the interior. The room with tapestries of gilded leather (ca. 1686) is exceptional: it is the only one of its kind to remain intact.
