Housed in a rotunda on stilts, this circular painting (14m tall with a circumference of 120m) depicts Scheveningen in 1881. Painted by Hendrik Willem Mesdag in a style that is in the purest tradition of the Hague school, it took about three months to complete. Entrance is via a dark spiral staircase. The other rooms are home to a collection of paintings and watercolours by Mesdag and his wife.
