This municipal museum was built in 1935 by Berlage. Its reinforced concrete structure is covered with yellow bricks. A gallery leads to the museum's exhibition rooms, where natural light and the layout combine to create a perfect setting. The renown of the museum is based on the gallery dedicated to Mondriaan and de Stijl. In addition to the extensive collections of Delft porcelain from around the world (17C to the present day), the Gemeente Museum also features an impressive array of sculptures and canvases by great masters from the 19C and 20C.
