South of Liptovský Mikuláš, the Demänovská River flows into the Low Tatra mountains. It is a place where people come for the winter sports resorts, such as Jasná, for the high peaks (Mt Chopok, in particular) and for the caves hewn out by the river in the limestone rocks. In total, the corridors extend over 20km. Two of the caves in this complex are open to visitors and are among the most popular attractions in Slovakia.
