This canal shaded by lime trees, and its hump-backed bridges and elegant façades make up an exquisite scene. You will notice the attractive East India Company house (Oostindisch Huis) at no 39, the Gothic Brabant-style façade (c 1520) of the Delfland Regional Waterways Authority (Hoogheemraadschap van Delfland) at no 167, and, at no 169, the façade bearing the Arms of Savoy (Het Wapen van Savoyen), which houses the local authority archives. There is a pretty view of the canal from the Nieuwstraat Bridge.
