Past the historic bridge that leads from Cours de Verdun, Théodore-Denis park is bordered by the remains of the Gallo-Roman ramparts. Further down, the Potinière gardens stretch to the heart of the spa district, with at the foot of the slope, the "trou des pauvres", a former bathing house for the poor. The promenade runs along the banks of the Adour as far as the Bois de Boulogne, a huge park and haven of greenery.
