Built between 1675 and 1683 by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, this castle is a model of Classical architecture. The main building, surrounded by moats, opens onto the courtyards of the stables and outbuildings. In front, the main tower is flanked by two arcaded buildings, whose different shades of pink brick create a harmonious picture set against the backdrop of the castle's romantic parkland, comprising 90ha/222 acres of historic gardens and 310ha/766 acres of centuries-old forest.
