This vast rectangular square was an important place for people to meet up and the setting for autodafés, fairs, executions, markets and even bullfights in the 19C: the bulls were enclosed in Calleja del Toril. Of an exemplary unity, the three-storey brick buildings around it, orange, beige or green, rest on arcades of the same colours. It is a pedestrian area and as soon as the weather allows it, it is covered with tables and turned into a huge open-air café.
