Situated on the "Peace Road", Corbera d'Ebre had 2,500 inhabitants prior to WWII, but was destroyed in 1938 during the Battle of the Ebro. All that is left are the ruins of a few houses around the Church of Sant Pere, whose belfry continues to rise proudly. Among the ruins, look for 26 letters made out of stones from the village, each of which is accompanied by a poem, and which together spell out Abecedari de la Llibertat.
