This small casino, which opened in 1891 at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain, was given new life when Spencer Penrose bought the site in 1916 and turned it into a hotel complex in which European artisans created ornate frescoes and tile work, marble fixtures and other design features in the pink-stucco, Italianate building. Today, golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, restaurants, a conference centre and a spa are just some of the facilities at this 700-room complex.
