A fine example of 17C classicism, the coloured woodwork, gilding and antique furniture adorning the interior of Cheverney are dazzling. To reach the castle, you must walk along a wide alley and up the front steps, flanked by a large symmetrical façade that may seem familiar if you are a Tintin fan. Indeed, Tintin author, Hergé, was inspired by Cheverny to create Moulinsart! Don't miss the dazzling King's chamber and the extraordinary clock, adorned with bronzes.
