Opis
The majestic River Saône rises 395m up at Vioménil, where the Lorraine plateau meets the Vosges. It enters Burgundy at Pontailler and joins the Rhône at Lyon. Its very gentle drop in altitude and regularity of flow make for a slow and docile river, navigable for most of its course. Visit its little fortified towns: Auxonne, Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, St-Jean-de-Losne...
