An elegant 16C gatehouse with four circular turrets leads into the more austere Château de Carrouges, surrounded by a moat filled with water. Like the gatehouse, it has been built with pink and black bricks, with the technique of alternating the two being used to create an elegant façade. Set around an inner courtyard, the apartments are furnished with a mix of pieces from the Renaissance to the Restoration. The visit ends with the monumental grand staircase.
